I forgot that Mantis' name was changed at the last minute from Banshee. I'm no expert on CP and I've only been there once and that was 2 years ago. But does anyone know why they decided to change the name?????

In Irish folklore (I think) You hear the scream of the Banshee right before you or one of your family members dies. Also there was something about the top brass not wanting to offend any people or religions.

Yep, management was afraid the name would offend some people/religions. Not really sure why. Doesn't Banshee just mean witch, or is there more to it than that?

After reading the article on GTTP, does anyone out there have any "Banshee" merchendise or GIF's of the logo? I love seeing things that "might have been."

BTW, Holiday World has a Banshee named flat ride in its Halloween section. According to Pat Koch (when I visited last summer) they got requests to change the name of their ride as well. HW refused.

I still have a Banshee button that was given to me by the park, I'll have to dig it out of the archive, don't know if it'll scan in at all though.

scamsdad, you could take a picture of the button and scan the picture. Or, take a digital photo, if you have the means.

I saw someone at CP with a Banshee shirt once, I didn't know what it was at the time.

Yeah there are people right and left that would give their left arm for a Banshee shirt! Including me. :D

That logo is so awesome. That would explain the color scheme on Mantis. I always why they were the colors the are!

I love Banshee!

I've got 5 buttons and the official Banshee Press Kit. It's pretty cool with the folder and the ride layout and general press release items, and a Banshee Postcard.

Any body else think the Steel Force logo looks just like that logo on the shirt?
