Well, sandbox mode is good if you don't count the backward building of tracks. ;)
I agree. The inability to build backwards is a major embuggerance.
I develop Superior Solitaire when not riding coasters.
I have to admit, I've gotten used to it and/or learned to work around it.
I can't get passed it. I can't reverse that wiring. I don't know what an embuggerance is, but it sounds like the inability to work backwards.

There's currently a Steel Coaster contest running over at ParkitectNexus. Winners get their tracks included in the final release of the game.
In my ongoing quest to share my Parkitect stuff with the Cbuzz community. Here's two early entries I submitted:
As usual, you can click through the pictures from more info.

Blue Surge sounds like Smurf porn.
No, that's Blue Spluge.
Blukkake?
Come on! That's clever.
Ok, here's how I waste an hour or two on a cold, rainy Saturday afternoon:
GARGANTUA
The Monster Looms
I don't think I've seen a Parkitect coaster with that high of excitement yet (75.32). That's completely raw - no theme or anything boosting it. (come to think of it, I don't know if that effect is in play yet with the game)
Unfortunately, the nausea is just as high. It's a puke factory. But the dumb little peeps eat it up.

The developers really do look to CoasterBuzz for inspiration. Just like most of our discussions on new coasters, even the ones that look as if they will be unbelievable still garner a couple "looks boring" posts.
I thought Atomic Steel looked more vomit-inducing myself. I can't look at those designs and imagine what the ride is like without considering how it actually feels when you are riding an Arrow multi-looper. I'll have to try to assume that Parkitect has much more comfortable trains that you get to ride in.
Coasterbuzz - Coaster enthusiasts, but so much more. We're the good ones.

Used the new Dino mod to create a dino/jungle park.
Also, they released Pre-Alpha 5 today and it looks like they did some funky stuff with the way the grid works. Makes sense on paper, but I haven't had a chance to play with it yet.
Been a while since I came in with a "What's Gonch Working On In Parkitect" update.
Blue Surge (a bunch of posts above this one) came in third in the Steel Coaster contest and will be included in the game (for now, at least).
The newest contest is for the Bobseld coaster and has actual prizes. This is what I came late to the table with:
Because I make them "glowy"
I like how it looks for the "first person" views.
I leave the "third person" views alone:
Stylish interpretation of screenshots is something a few of the parkitect players do. Enough so that the guys doing the game have messed with different in-game filters, like this desaturation filter (not sure if they'll ever make an official release though):
So the latest in Parkitect contests and glowy screenshots is:
I managed to snag 2nd place this time with the Bobseld coaster. Yay! 2-for-2 so far. (I'd probably do better if I were a dick and voted down others, but you know, karma and such.)
The Wing Coaster contest began and this is my first entry - Stratosfear
Continuing to carry the Parkitect torch!
Pre-Alpha 6 came out a few minutes ago with a buttload of updates.
I also decided to enter a second coaster into the Wing Coaster competition. The first one was over-the-top big, so this one is an attempt at a "family" wing coaster. More than happy with the stats. Haven't seen very many coasters pull the high excitement, low nausea with the wing coaster.
Oh, and I took a sealed copy of RCT1 as my prize in the Bobsled contest. What a weird thing to have. I need to get one of those acrylic display cases on a pedestal and put it under a spotlight in the entry of the house.
