North Myrtle Beach ammends code to promote beach side amusement park

A city board backed a change to North Myrtle Beach's city code Tuesday that would make it easier for a small amusement park to be built along Ocean Boulevard, an attraction supporters say could help re-energize the city's downtown. The park, to be called the O.D. Pavilion and Amusement Park after the city's Ocean Drive section where it will be located, is slated for a site between First Avenue South and Main Street on the beach side of Ocean Boulevard. It will open for a pilot season from Aug. 1 through Labor Day.
