what are the roller coaster companies of the futur

what does everyone think are the top 5 coasters 5-10 years from now? id say

1) b&m ( the new flying coaster at AT looks like it will be a hit and they still have the dive machine which could hold great capacities if they made the trains longer)

2) arrow (so many new concepts coming out and i believe if they get the maglev technology, which they are investing in, they will be able to make some unique coasters)

3) cci (amazing layouts with the ability to make
inexpensive, high quality coasters in tight spaces)

4) giovanola (if goliath was so awesome and titan is a replica with a few more elements and 10-15 feet taller, mf watch out)

5) s&s ( i see great potential in their air launched coasters and incredibly smooth tires. Once they get a few unique inversions and some more hills for more air they could make some
great coasters)

The next top coaster will be designed by me ;)
1) B&M -- they have totally solid ride layouts. Almost every single coaster of there's is awesome.

2)Arrow Dynamics -- while I'm not really a fan of any previous Arrow rides ('cept Magnum), Arrow can usually deliver a decent ride experience. The biggest complaint was head banging and they seemed to have eliminated that in their newer coasters. If X turns out to be a hit, then it could be the next "inverted" coaster.

3)S&S -- c'mon! Every park is going to want their own TA2K !!

4)CCI -- solid wooden experience. They're not going anywhere.

5)GCI -- the flipside to the traditional wooden coaster. Their unique designs pretty much ensure that they will also be around for awhile.

1) B&M -- so obvious I don't need to add details.

2) CCI -- have proven they're like B&M in that nearly everything they build is a hit.

3) Arrow -- they have potential and some great new ideas, but will they be as sub-par as the old Arrow's?

4) Vekoma -- yeah, everyone likes to trash them, but I really think they're a good company that's not going away anytime soon. They've coming up with new ideas, but they are getting pushed out of their own market -- boomerangs.

5) S&S -- thrust air coasters have a lot of potential, but I need to see the Hypersonic perform well for a long period of time (see 2Hostyl's trip report for details) before I give it the credit it probably deserves.
Hopefully my company, Birsh Coasters Inc...!

For Marine World
1 Another Woodie
2 Flying
3 Speed
4 Giga
5 Huss Fly Ayway
1. B&M
2. Intamin (shuttles, I hear the closed circut coasters have reliability problems)
3. Arrow (only if X is a sucsess, which personaly, I hope it isn't...)
4. S&S (I WANT A TA2K IN MY BACKYARD!)
5. Schwarzkopf (I hope his son can bring back this great company)

BIG ONE: What are you talking about??? To me it seems like this topic is what people think big designers will be in the future. Not what people think the next 5 coasters will be at Marine World. Read before you post!

V2, Deja Vu... how can it be better? Add Viper! Oh, wait. It's already there!
They probablly won't be the "King" of coaster companies but I hope Setpoint gets some more orders.

Anton Scwarzkopf (I think that is the right spelling) I thought was still alive, or at least as of 1998. In the book "Roller Coaster" it shows his life span as "1921 (I think) - " So, when it's blank, usually the person is alive! And the second question, I have no clue what you mean except you might be asking where the company is located. It's in Germany.

According to the book "American Rollercoaster", Anton Schwarzkopf retired. The company is now (at least at the time of that printing) headed by his son.

I have a question about CCI and GCI.

CCI has 31 coasters to their credit from 1992 to the present. GCI has ony 5 from 1996 to the present with none slated to open in 2001 (they also missed 1997). Is GCI slowing down? Not designing anymore? Or is it just because they are the relative newcomer on the block and are just starting out? I mean even CCI started out "slow" (4 coasters from 1992-1994). Could GCI be in this period now?

Just curious, why would a coaster enthusiast not want X to succeed?

Jeff, I take it spelling is a pet peeve of yours? I can't count how many times you've posted about that, especially Shwartskoff. :) But I too wish people would use the spell checker sometimes...

S&S Power should do incredible things with coasters in the future. Stan Checketts has such a twisted vision of what to put riders through.:)

Imagine all of the possibilities since H:XLC is just the "baby".
Boeing, Airbus....Hmmmmmmm....

Oooooh, my freekin' head.... Too many G's Too many G's! No, no, Too much Beer before the G's! Home Park: Knott's Berry Farm
S&S Power is a member of the Vekoma Groep/ Showquest Studios. Furthermore Vekoma will built Hypers and other coasters types, including the 4D from Arrow.
