OK, so why the reconfiguration of the Raptor entrance? Is that to keep the morning lines from sticking out into the midway?

The original sign was still there. My guess is they're angling it towards the front gate for a better presentation and, like you said, perhaps better traffic flow.

At first I didn't care for ID's new paint, but after looking as those pics, it doensn't look that bad. Nice pictures Gemini! :)

Are they still going to keep ID's Trains Teal?
check out the pics on virtual midway and see Iron Dragons new paint job. She has never looked better. she really shines now!
ya any one know about the trains will they be painted also?
Just thinking out loud, but maybe the reconfiguration of Raptor's entrance has something to do with its 10 year anniversary. A new flashy entrance may be in store to celebrate the occasion. Now if they only made the entrance to Magnum a little more noticeable/flashy.

I don't think that's going to happen. You can't see it in that picture, but the original sign is still there, waiting to be put back up.

Ever since they did the 10 year thing for Magnum, it seems people expect it for everything else. I think the Magnum celebration was a one-time deal.*** This post was edited by Gemini 3/25/2004 5:45:36 PM ***

I don't care for ID's new paint job. At first I thought it wouldn't be too bad but the yellow really stands out. For whatever reason, when i hear "Iron Dragon" i think of a typial iron colors... iron (silver/grey) and iron oxide (red/ red-orange). Even though the supports were an off white before, it's closer to grey (when dirty at least) than yellow. Eww.
I think it's just going to be wierd having bright yellow supports sticking out during ID's flight through the trees. The grey and not so bright red blended in a little better than bright yellow. Other than that I don't think it looks bad, I just find it wierd that it introduces the third shade of yellow to that relatively small area of the park.
Well, maybe with the decreased foilage around the ride now that Dragster has taken away much of it, the newly painted supports are going to do just that...act as much more noticeable objects in front of the careening trains.
