I still get hung up on them thinking this is their 4th theme park.

Why, because the third gate is a water park? It’s promoted as another “day” one might spend at Uni and it’s in ticket packages. It’s also extensively themed. I say it counts if they want it to count, and no one should feel cheated out of the truth.

i agree. I would say for most families the time spent there would be the better part of a day. Especially if it’s your first time.

Nitpicking..lol? Not sure thats what I would call it but yeah, I do find it odd to call a water park a theme park since historically we (the coaster community...maybe even the GP) have never combined those two categories into one. I don't remember anyone on Coaster Buzz excited to check out Sea Worlds new theme park, Aquatica, when it opened. If extensive theming makes Volcano Bay a theme park, does lack of theming make Cedar Point Shores an amusement park?

And as Jeff said, nobody talks about WDW having 6 theme parks.

I'm pretty sure Gonch was all over Aquatica. It is the poster child for the Gonch Model of Business Success: few people, high prices.

Now, I doubt he called it a theme park but, still.

Aquatica Orlando sells tickets for $50 and is the fourth most attended water park in North America. You're thinking of Discovery Cove.

an amusement park has various attractions rides and games. So technically a water park could be that.

But remember in the world of Show Business (which includes the outdoor entertainment industry) exaggerated claims for publicity purposes has always and will always be common. If they wanna say four they can say four and they're not going to ethics jail for it. And technically they’re not wrong.
