Universal Orlando giving away seven-day passes with four-night hotel stays

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Universal Orlando announced Wednesday the largest discount deal in the park's history -- a seven-day free pass to its theme parks in return for four nights at a hotel on Universal property. The Stay and Play package goes on sale Oct. 13 through January 2, for travel to Orlando from Jan. 2 through June 19.

Kinda like getting 8 hot dogs with 6 buns, isn't it?
I agree- how are you gonna use the other 3 days if you don't have somewhere to stay? Seems stupid.
I guess they are trying to get people to pay for the extra 3 nights as well. They are hoping people won't want to waste their extra days and pay for a few extra nights. I don't know if there is 7 days worth of stuff to do at Universal though.

do you think you can use the 7 day pass at both orlando and hollywood parks?

Does the pass work at SFO or BGT or would you need the flex pass?

I wonder if the extra three days can be carried over to another visit... I'm not going to register for the Sentinel just to find the word 'consecutive', but I know I've had unused days on passes before and used them up a year later.... (but that was Disney, not Universal). It'd be interesting to know.

There's really nothing major to register for, and they don't send you stuff.

What time does the water show start?

I think it is a good idea and will attract lots of people with plenty of vacation time and the financial capability. I always wanted to stay at the resorts around Universal and IOA and ride the boat to and from the park. Just picking the resort would be the toughy.

I've stayed at the Disney AK Resort Coronado Springs and it was very cool. The water slide was a great touch plus it was only 70 bux a night, so I usually look for the best deals around even if I am going to a different park. But I have always wanted to stay at Universal's resorts but never wanted to pay so much. Maybe I'll shell out the money sometime.

But, it does sound like a good campaign. I dont think I could spend that much time at Universal & IOA, but with the City Walk, and (I'm sure) plenty of things to do at the hotel, you could use all the days. If not, roam around O'Town, that could fill up your days anytime.
