Tilt over at Knott's

Word has it that Knott's really will be getting something no-one has ever seen before. The replacement for Wind Jammer is in its final stages and depending on how it goes along at the park in Taiwan, Knott's will be getting America's first tilt coaster. Built by Vekoma, the ride will open in 2002. This will be followed in 2003 by a Hyper from Morgan.

Oh boy, another Knott's rumor. Sounds like a ride-op yanking your chains. What next... Dueling Inverted Woodies???

Honestly, I can't see Cedar Fair planning a ride that hasen't been operating yet at another park.
They have two options. The deal depends on the success of the vekoma tilt in Taiwan. If it fails or looks to be too much of a safety concern, they will be getting a Hammer Head stall.

Skyboss, please just explain one thing to me. How come you keep changing what Knott's is getting almost weekly. Here's the list of what you've told us so far:

1)Intamin hyper-the station to be where MR is. You even gave us the entire layout. What happened?

2)300ft Impulse coaster-what happened to that?

3)Launch shuttle ride-in shuttle loop thread.

4)Vekoma tilt

I'm not trying to be mean, but which is it? I agree with Soggy, I think someone is feeding you false rumors. I don't think anyone knows for sure what Knott's is building next year, but we should know soon. As far X, don't even go there because I'm pretty sure you'll be showing up to ride it. *** This post was edited by DWeaver on 4/7/2001. ***

Isn't there a rumors page for stuff like this?

I refuse to add a signature. Damn, too late.
What is it that Jeff always says?

"Those who know don't tell. Those who tell don't know."

or something to that effect.

I work at Knott's and only people HIGH UP know what Knott's is getting for sure. The word is that they're replacing the shack with another type of pay extra attraction- A slingshot or storm force. And for the WJ replacement no one knows, like I said. This guy is lying through his teeth, unless he's Jack Falfas! *** This post was edited by ThePhantomLives on 4/7/2001. ***
Wow. I sense some serious hostillity coming from Sky Boss.

Any way, I realized a little bit into the off-season, that arguing with people about what CP was going to get in 2002/2003 was going to do nothing but make me more enemys, and more angry, so I decided not to even look at the "CP future" threads unless they have a lot of responses, and even then I don't usually post on them.

I suggest you do the same thing for Knott's.

There's a slim chance that Knotts will get a tilt. Right now Knotts is mostly talking about a hyper and inverted. But, you never know about Knotts, they are known for getting extreme stuff like an 78 degree water drop ride,Perilous Plunge(greatest water ride in the world) and Supreme Scream. So who knows, a tilt might be on its way to Cali.
Whatever Knotts is getting, its from Intamin. So, that narrows it down a little more. Any word of Intamin prototypes? This could get interesting.
Just think about it A Hyper Tilt at Knotts is perfect, because Knotts don't have alot of room so a tilt would eliminate a huge lift hill.

Knotts could also have it diving underground to take it across the street and back. Also it could be just a good sized tilt looper that's fast twisted and compact.

Knotts could also be getting a regular sit down hyper from Intamin like Expedition G force. EGF does not take up lot's of room far as lift and drop b/c it's at a 45* angle lift and a twisting 90* degree drop.

I say if Knotts do get a new coaster it is going to have a steep lift and very steep drop to conserve room. So hopefully Knotts has a very steep hyper coaster on the drawing boards, and a nice steep twisted inverted coaster planned soon.
Give skyboss a break guys. He took time from his life to inform us all what he heard. I for on ethank him, wether it true or not. I mean you all clicked the link to view this info so you obviously care too. If it is a tilt sweet...if not im sure it'll be something just as cool. THANKYOU SKYBOSS FOR YOUR INFO!

Ypu can tell from the previous posts that no one was mad/ungrateful/hostile to Skyboss. They're honestly disagreeing. That's inevitable, and it's good anyway, for then we get even more opinions. :)
I work at Knotts, and from two people pretty high up in management that we are getting something big next year for sure. Don't know if that means tilt or hyper, they wouldn't go into details for me. Sounds like a hyper becuase one said something about Steel Dragon 2000. Interesting idea... Jack Falfas did say a while ago that he wanted something that would beat even SFMM, (Goliath) But honestly, who knows.. No one has said anything for sure so our best bet is just to keep hoping that Cedar Fair will come through for us in a BIG way! By the way the Skycoaster type ride to replace the Haunted Shack is a for sure and is coming this summer.

Home Park: Knotts Berry Farm!
but also Disneyland and DCA
D Weaver... 2 and 3 are the same item. 1 is a likely possibility vs. a Morgan and tilt is another. Intamin 2k... What hostility? I never get zipped up over any of this. In any case, the following are true. 1...Knott's will have at least a hyper in the next 3 years. 2...Knott's will have something no-one has ever seen (as has been the case in the past) in the next three years. 3...Monte or the Boomerang will be history in the not to distant future (Thank you Magic Mountain for Deja Vu... Boomers were fun while they lasted... If it's Monte it's because of a like type replacement ride and age).

As for the Jack Falfas thing... You'll never know will ya..... *** This post was edited by Skyboss01 on 4/8/2001. ***

Gotcha Skyboss. Now I see what you were saying. Sorry if I sounded harsh. As you can see, Knott's is my favorite park and I really want to see a hyper in this park.

Yep,
I don't not believe you, but I don't believe you either. (As much as I'd like to!)
We all know how many CRAZY rumors are out there, and even though the occasional one may be true, you just have to dismiss them all. It's unfortunate, as I'd like to believe a great deal of them.
I hope your info is accurate. Some of those rides sound great!
