Love Negative-G's website.

However, I'd like to mention why I dislike the SF chain. One train operation on Batman with a two-hour line? Mr. Freeze closed? New, highly advertised ride not ready for opening day? Screaming Eagle scheduled to be closed for six weeks for rehab that they could have worked on over the off-season? A broke down flat ride to top it all off?

Some people will claim that SF is different now, but I see stuff like this all of the time.

Paul does a great job making his trip reports positive, but I would have gone to the customer service window and complained that they didn't seem to be ready to open. Seems more like a "soft opening" to me.

Great trip report though. I love it!

Agree...I still don't understand why they did not do the screaming eagle rehab over the off season. Makes no sense.

Sadly they seem to have gone back to the old days with not running multiple trains. I have read trip reports for a lot of the SF parks this season where it has been mentioned rides are running 1 train despite long lines. Even on days when the park is dead, 1 train can still mean a long wait. This past Sunday at Great Adventure Nitro had 2 trains running earlier in the day. When I went back in the late afternoon it was running 1 train and looked to be around an hour wait. Maybe the other train was having problems but with the 3rd train still taken apart, they had to go to 1 train operations or maybe they felt the crowds didn't warrant the 2nd train.

That was one of the few things I liked about Red Zone, how it was very rare to see 1 train running.

Honestly 99% of the time opening weekend at SFStL has some kind of a cluster f%#k. Last year it was the double rides mixed with a huge crowd. This year it was just not being totally ready and the weather.

The Boss was not open that day due to the cold as it valleys easily. Sky Screamer has not been due to be open until mid May so that was to be expected. From what I hear Freeze blew a transformer a few days before and I don't know about Batman but it was the only coaster running a single train.

Still while regulars have come to expect a less than perfect opening weekend we still had a great time and the next time we go back everything will be up (except for the Eagle which will be down getting painted and worked on for the next month as part of a massive rehab).

Have Fun

Paul

I think mostly it is to get the structure painted. Other than the turns (which it shuffles and squeaks a bit) the ride was the best I have ever seen it.

Have Fun

I'm sometimes too hard on parks, especially SF parks. My new rule is to stay away until at least the third weekend of operations. Thanks for a great, positive website, Paul.
