To all those who overlooked it...
Simcoaster has been out since Jan 31st. I purchased it the first day it came out w/ the free CD of additional coasters & tracks for $24.99 on sale.
I am curious on your opinions of Sim Coaster if you have played it.
I know it doesn't hold a candle to Rollercoaster Tycoon in terms or realism or coaster building, but for the overall fun factor and appeal, how do you like it?
Personally, I enjoy it. It's got nice graphics and animations, and you can ride the rides & tour your own park. It's a decent sequal to SimTheme Park. There's even adults in the park now!
I know the lasting appeal will not be there on par with RCT... but as a game in general, how do you like it??
I didn't know it was out that early. I just saw it advertised for the first time this sunday in the papers.

I'm buying it today. Are the graphics really crappy or are they good like No Limits?
The graphics are very cartoony. They are not realistic in any way whatsoever. The concept & graphics cannot compare to No Limits because that 'No Limits' is simulating the actual rollercoaster experience as real as possible.
In Sim Coaster, it is more of a fantasy land, with distinct themed area & rides. All rides are themed according to the area. You cannot create a faulty coaster. It'll go in a loop with a chain-life if it needs it! You can create a coaster where it can turn instantly 140 degrees sideways if you wanted. It would look odd and unrealistic, but it can be done.
The concentration is on the whole running of an amusement park business with your guests, staff, & attractions. You can build, but it won't be realistic... You can at least attempt to create the coaster of your dreams since you can bank at virtually any angle. It just takes time.
Never-the-less, it's still very fun.
It's just cartoony in a good sort of way!!
speaking of no limit's, is that game going to hit the shelves?

I will tell you, if your computer is not above average, it is going to play crappy. Simcoaster that is. You should at least have a 32 mb grahpics card.

It's extremely simple to install the extra CD.
Just put it into your drive, click 'Start | Run | Browse'. Now look for your CD drive, select it and choose the setup.exe file (ie: E:\setup.exe). When you choose ok to run that, it's basically self-guiding & will install automatically into the directory you specified!!
I have both games and I think roller coaster tycoon is better cause it has more variety of rides and the grphics are better!
Nothing can beat Roller Coaster Tycoon! You all know that!! :)

Sim Coaster seems kind of childish for me. RCT is the best RC game ever. Now if only a sequel can be released with the ability to ride your creations.
