Silly Newbie Question Dueling Coasters

Forgive me, I've only been playing the game for a little over a month (sans a trainer). I need some guidance on building syncronized side-by-side coasters. Basically, I just need to know how to start building them. I would rather syncronize separate tracks as opposed to a 'moebius strip' coaster. Can someone either provide tips, or point me to a webpage. I've seen some track floating around where there are three and four tracks side-by-side. Can that be done w/o a trainer. Any/all help is appreciated.

P.S. I have CF, but dont want to install it till I finish the original (Just completed 'Crumbly blahblah' last nite =])
Install CF now. It doesn't get rid of the old game, just opens it up to new scenarios. The old scenarios are still there. (CF replaces RCT). You can still go along just as you always did in RCT, but if you want to start a CF scenario after you finish a RCT scenario, go ahead.

As for your question: simply build two coaster with the platforms right next to each other. They have to be RIGHT next to each other though...separated platforms won't work. Then build the rides to be almost exactly the same length and speed, and you'll end up with great dualing coasters. To make them go together, simply check the "synchronize with adjacent station" box on both properties tabs.

Well, they don't HAVE to be the same length. Actually as long asd the station front tips touch each other, they will work. that is where the little stop lights are.

DOWN WITH TRIM BRAKES!
Right, but if one is a long ride, and one is really short, it's not really a dualing coaster then, is it? It's just 2 rides that dispatch at the same time.

What I generally do is build one or two elements at a time, and see if they meet at a point after those elements. Following that I build track back to the station to see if the timing is right. Granted, you need cash to be able to do this, but I usually get good results.

I've got a dueling ride here:

(Requires Drexler patch, CF and access to Mega Park scenario.)

I'm currently building/continuing a dueling/racing inverted coaster and what I do is build one inversion on one coaster, then an inversion on the other and vice versa
