Sea World Orlando Worth It?

Hey everyone, for spring break, I'm going on my obligatory trip to Orlando, and after last year, I will definitely return to IOA. I am staying in Orlando longer this year, and I want to know if Sea World Orlando is worth the price to pay to get it. I want to ride Kraken, and Journey to Atlantis looks awesome, but is there enough other attractions to hold interest for a full day?

Well, it depends how much you love rollercoasters... I was very dissapointed in Journey to Atlantis, and was dissinterested in all of the other attractions but Kraken was unbelievable. I just spent the entire time I was there on Kraken, It is definetely one of my favorite all time coasters. Personally, Kraken is worth it.

I loved both Journey to Atlantis and Kraken. Journey to Atlantis gives you that original log flume feeling, plus a coaster feel to the "surprise" end. It's filled with mist, fog, and other cool stuff.

Kraken is just amazing! Being in the front just gives you the feeling of flight...it's an amazing experience. I say go! The atmosphere is cool, and when you get bored of the thrill rides, you always have the big whale to gawk at. hehe :)

I have never been there, but this makes me never want to bother.
Oh my god, something is seriously wrong with that person... they are obviosly not a coaster enthususiast, and also must have never been on another coaster to think that Kraken is aweful! Kraken is one of the best coasters in the country! I wouldn't listen to any of that... it is all completely rediculus! Is there anyone here who could say that they don't like Kraken? I don't think so...

Sea World is a rip-off, and I resented having to pay nearly $50 to get in just to ride Kraken. However, considering it is now my 2nd favorite coaster, it was well worth the experience.

Journey To Atlantis is also very good. As for the shows, I'd seen them all before, and left the park at midday.

Thanks everyone, after most of these posts of positive feedback for Sea World, it looks like I shall make the venture to Sea World. Kraken sounds even more amazing, and I want to see how it compares to Medusa East.

Good decision :)

I thought Sea World was a good park. Whoever wrote that review is way off. Kraken is IMO one of the best coasters ever. If you go to Discovery Cove, your admission to Sea World is free so if you like to snorkle, you might want to consider doing Discovery Cove on your visit. It was the highlight of our trip to Florida (and we didn't even do the dolphin swim part!)
SWO is worth the visit. I just wrote a review on the travel forum. The shows are great, as the attractions. The 4 rides are not so bad, either. Good key-lime pie.
Kraken is an awesome coaster and you will be able to ride it as many times as you want because the lines are never more than 10 minutes max.
Well, I will agree too that Sea World is a good place to visit, whoever wrote that trip report is a sad person, how can he say that Kraken was awful, I thought it was awesome. Its my number 1 coaster with Hulk a very close second, however it wont stay number 1 for much longer, I visit Ohio in June:):)
I hate to admit it, but I went to Sea World just to ride Kraken(48 dollars was a big price to pay, but overall it was worth it) I managed 10 rides on Kraken during my half day there with 1 ride on JTA, and tryed every row including the front twice, The Front on Kraken rules, seeing the track inches from your feet was scary, also the back gives a lot of intensity, I almosy blacked out there.
I believe its 50 dollars now to get in Sea World, and although it may be a steep price to pay, you are given 1 Very Awesome B&M floorless coaster to ride, 1 amazing Water Coaster, A Good simulator and some great shows, so it is worth it JUST.

I'll be visiting Orlando in November for a little trade show (you know the one), so I'm interested to know what people think beyond Kraken. Steph and I were planning to do Sea World Ohio this year, but now that the "Busch animal experience" is less clear, it gives us more incentive to visit (that and I'm married to a biologist).

Based only on Batman, I'm so far of the opinion that the floorless thing is largely a gimmick. I hope Kraken changes my mind.

That person that wrote the trip report disgusted me! First, think of a different word besides awful. "This was awful. This was even more awful. It was just so awful. How awful." How could anybody say a coaster was AWFUL? I mean I even loved Roadruner Express. How could somebody say Kraken was awful? That doesn't sound like an enthusiast comment. With the Pacific Waves thing, it seemed like she/he was just looking for things to pick on.

Well, after clicking on the link and seeing who wrote it, I had a very good chuckle out of that, Goose.

The person who wrote that trip report was Mark McKenzie, and old RRC regular. That particular trip report was a sham, a joke. It couldn't have been further from the truth. Anyone who knows Mark realized this from the opening paragraph.

Mark is one of the *only* people like myself who enjoy almost ALL the coasters he's ridden. He rarely ever has something bad to say about a park, and it's very refreshing to see this quality in a person, as it makes you realize that going to an amusement park is all about having fun. And Mark M. is one person who knows how to enjoy himself to the fullest.

So, in closing, that trip report was nothing more than a huge joke, and Mark really does love Sea World and Kraken. I hope I don't sound TOO much like his spokesman! :)

I thought the park was going to be a joke but when I got there it was awsome. The rides are the best and the shows were great. I really liked the shark attraction. I think I paid 100 dollars for a multy park admission and that was well worth it. I went in and out of the three main parks IOA, US and SW.
Here is 101 opinions on this park. Based on a 94% approval rating, I would say this park is worth the visit. That other opinion I heard makes me cringe. Just because you are a coaster enthusiast doesnt mean you cant enjoy other amusement.

When I was at SW in early December last year, I thoroughly enjoyed Kraken. At that time, they were offering a second day free with any paid admission, but I didn't use it because I had already committed my remaining days in Florida. In retrospect, I wish I had gone back to SW for a second day of Kraken rather than to Epcot.

Be aware that large numbers of people head to Orlando during spring break, Christmas break, and the summer. At those times you can expect crowds everywhere. I recommend going at a different time if you can.
If you reserve a spot at Discovery Cove you get a 7 day voucher for Sea World. Total price is about $199. About the same as the 1 week SW-IOA-US-WW-BGT price.
