RCT3 and Windows 7

I recently bought a new PC and am running Windows 7. RCT3 was designed for XP along with some other microsoft operating systems, but not Vista or Windows 7 (hit the market before thest two existed).

While not designed for Windows 7, does anyone know if it will load and operate on a Windows 7 machine?

I have Windows 7 and RCT3 and 2 run very well on it. Didn't need any patches or updates. Good Luck!!

It runs fine on mine, except it won't hit my PC's resolution. It plays in a square box in the center of the screen, and that's mildly annoying.

Then sometime when I'm bored and have nothing else to do I suppose I'll have to load it.

You can adjust the graphics settings to fit your 16x9 monitor under settings>graphics.

I finally loaded my copy. I went out and bought a Platinum edition since I could only find the original RCT3 disk and not the two add ons. Runs fine... and FAST. Not sure what is meant by a square box in the middle of the screen. Mine is a square, and in the middle (covers completely from top to bottom). A bit of the screen on the sides is black, but it is not a problem, and it's not annoying. Fun to be playing again and having something to mindlessly do at the computer after working in front of one all day long.

(And I originally said I "recently" bought a new PC... I checked my records... it was APRIL 2010! Wow, how time flies.)

If you do a bit of googling, you should be able to set a custom resolution for RCT3. I run mine at 1366x768 (widescreen) with no issues and no black bars.

I've been able to set it, it just doesn't like to stick. When it does, it stretches considerably.

It's OK, though - I'll live.
