Question about Judge Roy Scream

I have not yet visited Six Flags Over Texas this year (I am definitely planning to), and hear that the Judge Roy Scream has been closed on every operating day since the park opened. Does anyone know why? One other question, has anyone else who's ridden that coaster noticed a trim brake right before the second drop? I haven't ridden it since late 1999, but I did feel a a slightly greater decrease in speed coming over the second crest than what it felt like on my visits in '95 and '97. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just me?

I don't need to fill in a signature... oops.
I believe Judge opened about a week ago. As for the trim, I didn't notice one when I visited late year.

Yes, Judge Roy Scream did open a few weeks ago. However, it was closed again when we were there last Sunday. :( I don't know the reason why, and I hope it will be open again soon.

I wonder what the problem is. I had been hoping that they were going to remove the headrests, but I think I did read something somewhere that there were problems with the trains, and that some re-tracking was going to take place, but I'm not sure about any of that. By the way, what does everyone think of this coaster?

I'll be surprised if it's closed for a while due to some major problem, but I guess that can't be ruled out completely. We're probably going back to SFoT again this weekend, so we'll see if it's open.

Personally, I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the Judge because it was my first "adult" coaster. Texas Giant is more thrilling, but JRS has some nice drops and it's fun! One of my friends calls it "the hidden coaster", because for a long time she could never figure out how to get to it. And one time a guy asked us if we had to leave the park to get to JRS! :D

(By the way, when it was running a few weeks ago, it still had the same headrests.)

Yup, I love the Judge's solitary location. I remember someone asking me the same thing about whether Judge was included in the park's ride selection. My opinion of the coaster is that it has always been a fun and highly re-rideable woodie, but I don't see the point in having headrests on the trains. I remember first riding this coaster in 1995, before the self-ratcheting lapbars were installed. Does anyone think it improbable pessimism if someone predicted that SFoT will one day fill in the lake and build something else on that side of the entry road? I think that would kill one of JRS's most likeable qualities.
