PKI flat ride question

Scrambler, Monster and Flying Eagles, all located in Coney Mall were originally built at Coney Island (Cincinnati). Does anyone know when these three rides opened at Coney? If I`m correct, they`re three of the remaining five attractions that are at PKI that were also at Coney Island (Cincinnati)[the carousel and renovated King Mills Log Flume/Wild Thornberry`s River Adventure would be the other two] Anyone know of any other original rides form Coney that still operate at Paramount`s Kings Island?
Actually, I have been told by what should be a reliable source that the Monster at Kings Island was the last Monster ever built. Since the last Monster was built in the mid-1970's, the Kings Island Monster cannot possibly be the Monster that operated at Coney Island.

My GUESS is that the original Coney Island Monster is the one now operating at Canada's Wonderland, which opened in 1982...some years AFTER Eyerly made its last Monster...and that a newer one was built for Kings Island.

Can anybody offer any other details on this dirty little secret?

According to Coney's website, PKI's Monster, is, in fact, the same one that operated there.
I think Shake, Rattle, & Roll is another origonal flat ride from Coney Island (Cincinnati). Someone correct me on that if I'm wrong.

Thats wrong, BEASTmaster. Shake Rattle & Roll was opened in 1975 with the giant double wheel. My roomate has the brochure.

The Flying Eagles is a Bisco Rocco from the 1930's. It survived many a flood. If you can find some of the famous pictures of the flooded CI, you can see the structure of the Eagles peaking out of the water.

I think the scrambler is a 1969. With newer parts
I'll have to look at the product number on the data plate next time I am on it. *** This post was edited by john peck on 2/20/2001. ***

Hey Dave,

I've heard from a very reliable source that the Monster that currently operates at PKI is not the original from Coney Island. I don't know for sure if the original one from CI ever operated at PKI, but I think it did (if I remember correctly). And just to note, it is possible that they are repainting it this year also.

Neil, who wishes that the CI Haunted Mansion would have made the move to PKI also.......
If you go to Coney Island`s webpage (Cincinnati) it says that the monster was moved from Coney to Kings Island. Unless they moved that monster some where else and got a different one I think the one at PKI is the one from Coney. Regardless, there has been a monster at that location since the park opened in `72.
Yes, coastersrz, I don't doubt that Coney's Monster operated at Kings Island. It's just that I have heard that in at least one season Kings Island was without a Monster, and that the Monster operating there now is a newer Monster than the one that the park opened with.
--Dave Althoff, Jr, who is trying very hard to find the applicable notes...
I`ve never been to Pki when there wasn`t a monster there and I`ve never heard that!
