New Kind of Trend - Additional Off-Season Marketing

I don't know about everyone else, but I've noticed A LOT of unusual off-season marketing by some of my local parks this year.

I know that there is usually a Black-Friday blitz and then...that's really it until spring break rolls around.

This year, I have been getting Presidents Day, Valentines Day and even Leap Year deals from Dorney, Rye Playland, Knobles and even Six Flags.

I understand that e-mail marketing of this type is probably not very expensive, but it serves as a reminder that yes, spring is coming and the parks will open up again. I just never saw deals like this before at this time of the year. (Some rival black Friday). Dorney offered $30 one day tickets if you buy 4. Rye offered seasons passes with parking, paddle boats, beach and pool access for $100.

Anyone else seeing this and any thoughts?
