Mechanic gets 2-1/2 years probation for 2004 Sizzler accident in Mass.

The mechanic of a carnival ride in Shrewsbury was given 2-1/2 years on probation today after pleading guilty to manslaughter in connection with the death of a man thrown from a ride in 2004.

Brian R. McCullough, who was responsible for daily inspections of the ride, will be able to serve the probation both in Massachusetts and Florida, where he lives. Andrew Fohlin, 38, died in September 2004, when a "Sizzler" ride flew apart at a church fair.
