I have been anxiously awaiting further news/photos about Talon. I have planned since last fall to visit Dorney with the family in late June, then I decided I could not wait so I will take myself there on May 18 as well.
This update is absolutely beautiful to these eyes! Best news to me is that it IS operating. Just by lookin' at these gorgeous photos I KNOW it is a can't miss success already.
B&M does it again, and hats off to Dorney.
Great job on the photos Joel and Brett(outstanding quality) and thanks also Jerry!

I like that fence style that is now apparently Cedar Fair standard issue. It keeps people out of where they shouldn't be but you can see through it and it looks nice. They have the same stuff around Raptor, Mantis and The Force.

Looking especially nice. I really like the entrance and exit plaza. Those aerial photos were just awsome.
I can't wait to ride this thing. I really like the paint colors. 135 ft tall, right? That helix looks incredible. The riders in the right seat are in for a treat. It looks like the right seats barely miss the ground!

Talon is going to be amazin' but i have one problem... i can find where we enter the ride.
Beautiful pictures once again. Dorney will definitely get my visit this summer.
Talon is going to be one of teh Top 5 favorite inverted rides. the track looks like the train wouldn't have enough space to clear the ground.

Looks like the trench dug under the Immelmann has no drainage, that will be a disaster when water builds up!

"If we built a ride that everyone wanted to ride, that would be an elevator, and that's not an amusement ride." (Stan Checketts, S&S Power)
That is one gorgeous ride!!! I can't wait to get on it!!!!
First, Jeff, the fence does look great and there is a lot of it. It's everywhere. I'd almost swear there is more around, under and inside of Talon than in the whole rest of the park. It appears you will have considerable freedom for safe photography here. They certainly could have done it a lot cheaper but they made it more accessible. The people at the park who planned it deserve a lot of credit for that.

Second, there actually is a drain under the Immelmann. It is visible in the high res scans I have but not the low res ones on the web site. If you can see the little white pipe on the right side in the bottom of the trench (near the dark puddle), the pipe appears to be the output of a sump pump type unit. There is a wire going down in the drain hole anyway.

Also, you will not believe how quiet this ride is. Even with the park closed today, standing right at the ride, you can barely tell when it is running. Even the lift hill is quiet. When both parks are operating, you may never hear Talon.

One more tidbit - they are not planning to use the trim brake (before the Immelmann) - at all! No other trims are on the ride either. I mentioned that I could already hear the cheers.

Thanks for all the great comments about the photos! Operating photos coming shortly.

Uh-oh! Looks like I'll be getting a season pass this year.
So when will Valleyfair be getting one of these machines? The need it - BADLY!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it will be soon, seeing that Cedar Fair started a trend with the 4 hypercoasters (aka Magnum, Wild Thing, Steel Force, and Mamba) Now I think they are starting a trend with inverted rollercoasters (with Raptor and Talon already built) Valleyfair and Worlds of Fun will be next to get these monsters!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Beautiful pics from RideZone, as always!

What an awesome looking coaster! Even though Nitro is just as close to me as Talon, I am more eager to get to Dorney just to ride this one. Every single thing about it looks great. I have a feeling that many Top 10 lists are going to get juggled around due to Talon!
Whoa! Those shots of Talon look tight!!! Man, California really needs to get an awsome B&M inverted coaster like Talon! Top Gun at PGA just isn't all that great even though it is a pretty fun ride. The last helix looks awsome!!! Man I wish i ride it!

Medusa at SFMW is the best coaster built!
