Yikes!

Hold on - isn't PKI's gyro drop 315 feet? That's what they advertised anyway. Or does this mean the drop itself is 305 feet?

Sounds pretty awesome I love drop zone at pki and I am sure this will be a lot better.
YES!
Virginia has needed some type of Free Fall ride for a LONG time! This is gonna be good.

Excellent. Just one more reason to include Virginia in next years plans. (Yes, I love Intamin Drops as much as coasters)

I'm guessing the actual drop will be 305 feet. This is great news, as PKI's Drop Zone is great!
Heh... "Pardon our dust, it's a long way down!"

Well there goes the original rumor that I heard earlier today about it being an S&S tower, although it's not an acrophobia clone an intamin gyro drop is great for PKD none the less and it will have better capacity than SFA's tower of doom.

Now this should scare SFA into doing something in 03,Ricochet didn't phase them enough but two years back to back without a major new attraction is a bit risky with this big announcement.

So I'm assuming it has normal, not stand-up, seating?

Wow!!!
While it may be safe to assume that it is a gyro-drop, the release just said drop ride.

It would turn out great if this is indeed an Intamin Floorless, Tilting Gyro Drop (Acrophobia). How much does Acrophobia hurt to men anyway?

I hope it(Acrophobia) does'nt hurt period, I'm riding it in October ! *** This post was edited by TITAN_FAN_13 on 6/20/2002. ***

It really doesn't hurt if you just "position" yourself correctly. I think people just want to say, "ow, my d***." It gets really annoying.

where's the proof that its an intamin gyro?

i've had the pleasure of riding Drop Zone and on a clear night you can see downtown Cincinnati... Drop Zone rocks! i rode acrophobia about two weeks ago and i figured it couldn't be worse and/or better than DZ and whoa... didn't that ride blow the socks off me... If it was an acrophobia clone at 305 I would have to seriously think about riding it...
