IAAPA 2003: Exhibitor rides not inspected by state

Manufacturers and distributors at the annual IAAPA trade operate a handful of new rides, but the products are not inspected in advance by the state of Florida. An inspector says this is normal because the rides are not open for the general public.

I wouldn't feel unsafe (except on a SCAD... I've heard of injuries happening in Europe too) because aren't the ride's manufacturers' setting them up? Seems like they'd be able to handle it without a state inspection.
