Hersheypark's Spring time in the park.

I went to HP today, and it was a perfect day for some coaster rides. I just wish they had the Lightning Racer, Wildcat, Wild Mouse running as well. The lines were nice. 4 rides on the Great Bear(2 front 2 back,)3 rides on the Comet(I undid my seatbelt after we left the station,)3 rides on the Looper, 3 rides on the Sidewinder, 1 ride on the Trailblazer. Plus several flat rides. Well worth the $13 wristband. Anyone else go?
I was thinking about it but I'll probably wait till the park opens. Midway america is one of my favorite areas in the park and SHOULD have been open this weekend. What's the point of having the only racing/dueling coaster in the us if you can't ride it?

"Nippy!! Where the hell are ya?"
I was there. Only got to go on the coasters once. i'm going tomorrow before the hockey game in the arena for a little bit to hit the coasters again.
Hasn't anyone else gone to Hersheypark?

Why would you even admit to that. It's just a stupid thing to do on any coaster no matter how tame of a ride it is. Undoing seatbelts will only cause the park to go to other type of restraints more constricting than fun. But thats just my two cents on that.

We came, We saw, We rode, We went home! :)
They added the seatbelts this year, and ever since I was a kid riding that coaster I have never had to wear a seatbelt. Why start now?
That's Right! I forgot the Comet didn't have seatbelts last season. Any chance of that brake on the second turnaround being turned off. If it is I think the Comet has a possibility of being an airtime monster.

The rides people were told that the seatbelts were added to Comet to be consistant with the other wooden coasters in the park. If that's not the reason, I don't what else could be.
Two things...

One, the break on the second turnaround. It is ANNOYING! However, last year for Hersheypark in the Dark, I swear they had it off or at least it wasn't stopping the trains as much (is that possible?) Actually had some airtime in that last bunnyhop section.

Two, Seat belts. First, on Comet I think they are un-necessary. Comet has run for 55 years with out them, why need them now. Ist this just another action to protect the park from our litigation happy society? Anyway, what size belts are they? The ones on Wildcat (also not needed in my opinion) are so short! On at least 1 out of every 3 rides I have had on that coaster, they have had to turn someone away because those annoying belts would not close... and these were not really "big" people either! Could fit in the seat, could lock the bar, but that stupid belt was just about a quarter of an inch to short so they couldn't ride. Either lose the belts, or make them normal size!

I also went. 6 on SDL, 1 on Sidewinder and Trailblazer, 3 on Comet and over 45 on Great Bear (yes, that's 45, due to 15 late night walk-ons). Never more than a 10 min wait on friday.
Once again, I was told by a full-time supervisor that the seatbelts were only added this year to maintain consistancy with the other wooden coasters. Heck the attendants weren't even checking seatbelts on both Friday and Saturday. That seems dumb since Wildcat and Racer really don't need them, at least in my honest opinion.
