Disney World lifts hiring freeze

Walt Disney World has lifted a hiring freeze implemented in February and plans to hire 2,000 workers for summer jobs, officials at the theme park resort said Monday. But Disney officials also said the resort was cutting its maintenance staff's hours from an average of 40 hours a week to an average of 35 hours, a sign that the weak economy and the war in Iraq are creating uncertainties for Walt Disney World.
