Delirium goes vertical at PKI

Posted | Contributed by CoasterAaron

Paramount's Kings Island's giant frisbee, Delirium, recently went vertical with the erection of two of its legs, along with the central rotation axis. The seats have been taken inside the gates and await assembly. (Additional photos can be found at the official PKI website, PKI.com.)

I'ts still early, but for some reason I was thinking it would be bigger. We'll see in April.
Well if you were thinking it would be 137' tall, since that is the height they were throwing out, you are wrong. That is about the height you will hit at the top of the swing. Though if you want a size comparison, think of a man standing around 5'5 to maybe 6' (this is just an estimate). If you stood the man next to the pole laying on the ground, it would come up to his shoulders. That is one huge support pole. Also the motor, try and picture the size of a semi trailor. Well put that next to the motor and it is about the same height, give or take a few inches. These pictures really don't show the true size of this thing.

Trust me. It is a big ride.

The one at PCW is a Mondial, but it is similar.

Heya Lancelot, is there some reason you decided to post in all caps "Yelling"?

ON topic tho. yes the ride is very big, I'm guessing those poles are probally 70-80 feet? anyone else have a guess?

Sweet, can't wait to ride it :-)

Fear, not the distance from which you fall, however, the velocity with which you hit the ground.

Should be very cool to see it and Drop Zone nearly side by side. What a sight that will be!

I love Huss Frisbees! I can't wait!
