Cedar Point 6/3/13

Awesome day at the park so far. Already have 2 rides on GateKeeper, 1 on Maxair, Wicked Twister, and Windseeker. Waiting in line for MF and the wait is less than thirty minutes. This is my first time posting and I will continue to update through the day.

Thank you for posting! Welcome to cbuzz, the happiest place on earth! (Besides disneyworld)

Wow. An ongoing, in the moment trip report? What a great idea. With technology the way it is now, why hasn't anyone ever done this before?

Hindsight always makes things seem obvious.

LoL...Well, the yellow train on MF is running fast but a bit rough. Maverick has a little over a hour wait. From the queue line it doesn't seem that they are running all the trains.

Ride Gemini. Don't wait, just go there. NOW!

It's running well this year on the blue side.

Well, got to the train and Maverick has broken down. Hopefully this will be a quick fix. Cedar point has astounded me already today with ride reliability.

Maverick is down due to mechanical issues. Lol

Told you that you should have gone straight to gemini.

Maverick was awesome as always. Took a couple rides on Cedar Creek Mine Ride in the last seat and giggled the entire ride. Can't beat a 44 year old classic coaster. Grabbing a pulled pork sandwich and back to riding. Does anybody know why sky hawk has been inoperational all season so far????

Wow two rides on Gatekeeper? How long was the wait for those rides. It sounds like you are having a very good day. Hope it is like that when I hit the park, I plan to go near the end of the month if I can. If not I will be stuck going mid week in July or August. Have to take advantage of my pass somehow. Hate to think that I would end up not using it.Also, I don't care for the Mine Ride. The last couple times I was on it, they only ran one train, and the line was very long. On one ride they stuck me in with a little girl, and I spent the whole time trying to hold her down as she cried, and tried to climb out of the seat. We both almost fell out going around one of the turns, and it was very bumpy. On another ride I slammed my knee into the t-bar, and got a nice cut, with blood going down my leg.I used to like it though, but, I think they should make it cooler. Maybe give it he Kings Island AE treatment and tunnel in the strip of track out of the station, and enclose the first and second lifts with some kind of theme. Hanging skeletons wearing miner hats, or big spiders would be cool. Wouldn't take much effort to add it to the ride either.

I didn't do it! I swear!!

Um, Timber-rider, Gatekeeper's capacity approaches the level of a B&M hyper like Diamondback. It probably won't have more than 45 minute waits on an average day. It has 3 32 passenger trains with good loading speeds and fast ride ops. It had 2-4 hour waits all day on opening day because it was the newby and that's why people came that day. Milly and Mavy and Twisty will have longer lines because they both have worse capacity than Gatekeeper.

I agree with you about Mine Ride. The only reason I ride it is because it makes my dad cry tears of joy when he rides it. It was one of his first roller coasters of his roller coaster rehab at age 22 after he was scarred for life on Turn of the Century when he was 13.

I was at CP on Saturday (ONLY because it was a school field trip and I could get a friend in for only $20, I hate saturdays) but there was like an 80% chance of rain all day long. The wind was so bad in the morning, Raptor wasn't even running. They let GK go and it was going so slow I started to panic it was going to valley at that turn around after the first side of the keyhole. Scary thought though, because it wouldn't run all day then.

I got super lucky that day actually. The CP blogger, Tony was doing a Tweetup that day and I got front of the line for MF. It was great, because the line was an hour and a half. But as for being lucky, it only rained for like 20 mins, so we saw a show back by Maverick and got out just as Maverick opened, waited about 30 mins, and as we got off and headed towards Magnum, Dragster started running and we only waited 30 mins. It was my friends first ride and she almost peed herself it was hilarious.

But after that it was like 6pm and we got on GK withing 30 mins too. The only time I've never seen GK longer than an hour unless it's just opening for the day, or on Opening Day.

But anywho on the way out, Raptor had the longest line at about 45 mins, so I'd have to say our day was successful.

Twisty is my abbreviation for Wicked Twister. Yes you did the sarcasm thing right.

Abbreviation? Sounds more like a term of endearment.

And why is "abbreviation" such a long word?

I've done one on Hershey, but it was last year at LEAST. Then I got sidetracked and wrote the rest in a second post. Lol

Can't wait for the full report!

"Look at us spinning out in the madness of a roller coaster" - Dave Matthews Band

I love it! A play - by - play trip report!!! Why didn't I think of that? Welcome aboard Bombay!

You gave me a great idea for my next report.

Part 3 - Midday Drink -

"ok....I'm slowly taking off the wrapper...twisting the mid-section...and it's transparent plastic....oh but wait....it doesn't have that roundy-bendy series of vacum tube like circles to allow the flow of Pepsi to enter my mouth without a loss of suction...that's gonna cost it a couple of points."

Part 4 - Ferris Wheel -

"...and now I'm going up....going up...going up....almost at the top...cresting...almost there...at the top HEY GREAT VIEW!...slowly going down...going down...a little lower.....

Part 5 - Penalty - (With Color Commontator)

"Oh...that doesn't look good...looks like that's going to be a penalty."

"Yeah Bob...I mean you can only use the "Excuse me I gotta get to my kid" routine only so many times...."

"Yeah that last group of 4 was not going to let it slide..."

"Look here comes the security guy with the walkie talkie....he's signaling....let's listen in..."

"LINECUTTING BY THE OFFENSE...EJECTION FROM PARK...FIRST DOWN!"

"Looks like a good call...let's look at the replay.....yup that's an entitled expression with a guilty grin and this time the officials nailed it."

"And the crowd is loving it....by the way this ejection is brought to you by Fast Lane...when the traveling is slow, use fast lane....more after this."

Here's To Shorter Lines & Longer Trip Reports!

Well, I'm home finally. I managed to sneak a ride on everything at the park. One the way out just before five I decided to ride Raptor. I rode the back seat contrary to me always riding the front right seat. When we pulled into the final brake run I noticed a bolt about 3/4 of the way out of the cover plate for the hydraulic seat mechanism. I reported it to the ride op and of course they closed down the ride. That was my parting gift. Next week will be Dorney Park and Hershey Park.

Thanks for the support guys!!! I hope to see you all out at the parks.

Thanks for your tr.
