Camp Snoopy coming to Worlds of Fun

Posted | Contributed by RagingBull

No big surprise here: Worlds of Fun will add its own version of Camp Snoopy for the 2001 season. The new area will feature rides and shops themed to the Peanuts characters. While one of the rides is named Woodstock Express, it is referred to as a train ride, not a family coaster.

You can read all of the details on the official Worlds of Fun website.

[Ed. note: Cedar Fair CEO Dick Kinzel hinted at this in a recent interview with CoasterBuzz.]

When Dorney Park received it's Camp Snoopy for the 2000 season, Woodstock's Express was described as a childrens mine train adventure, so there is still a chance.
Camp Snoopy is hopefully do to WOF that it did DP give the youngin's something to do.

I don't think Valleyfair won't get a Camp Snoopy any time soon seeing how they have a multimillion dollar Camp Snoopy park no more then 30 minutes from VF.

You build it, I'll ride it
Yes but CF:LP wants to dump the bears. I still think it's a matter of time before CF:LP dumps CS:MOA. Honestly what are they getting out of keeping it? Not much really. I think that the money that they are using on that could go into getting another park. I still think they should go after Jazzland.

Oh and as for WOF'01, we are getting 2 new rides and a blow up thing. This is not the first blow up thing in the midwest either. If Keller was still here I'm sure he'd be saying that. Just like he did with Boomerang. *sigh*

When they are refering to the train ride I believe they are just planning on re-naming a small kiddie train ride we already have its called Too Too Train. (yes we do have info and pics of it on the Unofficial Worlds of Fun Site look under rides)

I really hope Worlds of Fun gets the good end of the stick one of theses years. If it wasn't for the Orient Express and Timber Wolf, then I would have never fell in love with roller coasters. I hope that their version of Camp Snoopy is as nice as the ones at the other CF:LP parks. I have also been told that there is a possible flat ride for 2001, but that is just a rumor.
