Busch moving HQ to Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando boss promoted to COO

Busch Entertainment Corp. plans to move its corporate headquarters from St. Louis to Central Florida, home to four of the company's nine theme parks. SeaWorld General Manager Jim Atchison is being promoted to president and chief operating officer.

I was about to make a comment on why the heck were they in St. Louis to begin with, when none of their parks are even close to there. Then I kicked myself when I realized my stupidity that they do much bigger things than just their parks.

I went on a tour of their St. Louis location and it is very impressive.

Much bigger things than parks? That's crazy talk. ;)
Yeah, like brewing crappy beer.
^Ahhh, you are a Miller guy to? :)
I as well. I am good to Miller and Miller has been good to me. I just drove past a smelly Budweiser brewery in Columbus, Ohio.
Wow, just read the article. They have already confirmed the corporate headquarters in Orlando but still don't have a clue where they are going to set up shop. Personally, I think it should stay in St. Louis along with the the rest of their other product (beer).

Just because Disney put Orlando on the map doesn't mean it makes sense for other companies to corporate themselves there.

Why would you have your office away from every one of your business units? They aren't moving the beer stuff, just the Busch Entertainment unit.
Chil: You also have to realize, next year, they will have 5 out of 10 of their parks within 2 hours driving distance to Orlando.

If I were in charge of the Busch Entertainment group about 3-5 years ago when SFI was trying to unload parks, they might have HADa "business unit" in St. Louis. Just seemed like a good fit for them, geographically and otherwise. The park was also not TOO far off from Busch standards...

Oh well, the FL state motto IS: "the more, the merrier". ;)
