Bigger Topic & Reply Typing Box

This would be of a big help as you can see I write long-winded posts!!! My 17" monitor is set at 1024x768 and the box is only like two by five inches big! The current size is fine for short posts. Maybe have an option for bigger boxes.

Also how do you bold & italic the letters? Same goes for the little yellow smily faces or is that a secret? :-) - No smily face :-(

In that case, why not allow font options?

Oh, and how do I edit the wording of my topics w/o deleting topics?

A suggestion: In the Terms of Service, highlight use of proper spelling & grammar and to use spellchecker. Also mention no netspeak allowed to drive the message in. Plus to search the site rather than asking where to find a particular site i.e one already on this site!

Just checked two replies will editing. Jeepers creepers! D'oh! Thanks mates. Was about to suggest a help section on the above. :) I got it! Well, the 'help' is tiny!!!

Nothing can really be done about the size of the edit box.

Click on the help link next to the edit box and under "Your reply:" for instructions how to bold and italicize. The smiley face is nothing more than a colon : followed by a right paren ). Don't put the "nose" in.

As for editing, you'll see three links between your name and the time stamp of the post. Click the "Edit" link, make the change, and resubmit.

Regarding the size of the post box, there are several reasons it is the size it is. The first is that you have to accommodate people using a 640x480 screen. I've got 19 inches of NEC love at home, 21 inches of Sony love at work, but not everyone does.

Second, the size is kept somewhat small because it suits the kind of conversation we normally have. I don't want to discourage people to make short posts, but I don't want to invite novels, either, you know?

LOL! Well, as you can see, I write 'novels' on CB like one or two times a month. The rest of the time, am too burned out to post. Just read. Therein is your Catch 22, small box = full screen once posted! Maybe I should write editorials for the site. *** This post was edited by CoasterGod on 3/2/2001. ***
