Citing ideal weather, new attractions and a marketing campaign emphasizing a legendary past, the board of directors of Historic Arnolds Park, Inc. (HAPI) on Wednesday announced a bright beginning to the 2007 season at the century-old amusement park complex. HAPI finance manager Lisa Cihlar said as of the end of May attendance at both the park and the Queen II excursion boat was up substantially over last year. Cihlar said gross revenues to date were up 5 to 8 percent, or $15,000, over a year ago.

No details are given on the park's website, but based on memory and the rides list posted, it looks like they got several new rides including a Roll-O-Plane. :)
Actually, Conneaut is in a fantastic location. Conneaut Lake is the largest natural lake in PA and it attracts a lot of water sport enthusiasts, there are several golf courses in the area as well as a winery. It is also close to the huge Pymuntuning Reservoir which attracts vast numbers of people.

Conneaut has a great ride package, better than Waldamere in my opinion. It is a true resort and could be very sucessful givin the right management and an influx of money to rebuild its infrastructure.

Thanks millrace, for proving that the area surrounding Conneaut isn't exactly filled with broken-down bungalows and nothing else. And like I said, the bulk of Conneaut's- or any amusement park's business, for that matter- comes from outside the park's hometown. It's not like the only people that visit the park live within 5, 10 or 15 miles of the place. And people that are traveling from outside of the Conneaut/Meadville area are either unaware of the area's problems, or just don't care.
