Where The Roller Coasters Come From

Roller coaster nerds can identify a ride from Swiss firm Bolliger & Mabillard from a mile away. The familiar steel box track spine is a giveaway that, in most cases, you're looking at a B&M ride. With the construction of GateKeeper at Cedar Point underway, executives from parent company Cedar Fair decided to tour the birthplace of B&M roller coasters, in Batavia, Ohio. CEO Matt Ouimet and VP of Planning and Design Rob Decker invited a few reporters and CoasterBuzz to join them on the tour, where the final pieces of GateKeeper are coming together before being delivered to the Sandusky, Ohio amusement park.
