Maintaining the world's most popular roller coaster site isn't easy without our crack (and we do mean crack) staff of volunteers, moderators and wives. Here are the people who make it happen!

Jeff "Jones" Putz, Webmaster and self-contained Freak Show I realized in late 1999 that if thousands of people could flock to a silly little site about Cedar Point, there must be some potential for a general roller coaster site that could do the same. Too lazy to generate insane amounts of content myself, I decided to build the "Portal to The Thrill(TM)" that would act as a gateway to all things coasterish.
It has been a great ride to watch this site grow over the years, and the community that has grown up around it.
Location: Cleveland, Ohio Turn-Ons: Red-heads, nose rings, tall coasters (size matters), Canadian beer, hard-core volleyball. Turn-Offs: Coaster snobs, coaster know-it-alls, inappropriate use of Lycra shorts, bigotry of any sort.

Scott "ShiveringTim" Short, Database Guy and Moderator Originally from Southeast Michigan, I now live on the east side of Cleveland where I make my living as a programmer/analyst for a major insurance company.
I've been visiting Cedar Point for years with my family. The funny thing is that when I was younger I had a strong fear of coasters. Slowly I started climbing the proverbial ladder with the Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Blue Streak, Avalanche Run, Corkscrew, Wildcat, and Gemini. It wasn't until 1991 or so until I finally rode Magnum. After that the fear was gone and the rest is history.
Location: Cleveland, Ohio Turn-Ons: Pro football, efficient park operations, road trips, coasters in Autumn. Turn-Offs: Those who refuse to understand, wasted bandwidth, today's top 40.

Neil DeWeese, Moderator It was the early 70's, I was growing up in Ross Township, just 5 minutes from one of the many trolley parks that dotted the Pittsburgh region, West View Park. Here, I found this unique world that thrills, excites and scares you! I wasted no time working up the nerve to tackle coasters, despite having an early fear of heights. I became hooked. As I turned 7, I remember taking a trip that challenged my every fear and changed my life, a new coaster was just built that dominated the industry, Gemini! Being in the marching band, we performed in many parades in parks throughout the region, and as far away as Orlando. Giving me the opportunity of experiencing the vast array of coaster elements. The rest is history! Now we live in the age where designers and manufacturers are pushing the limits, you'll never know what's lurking around the next corner!
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Turn-Ons: Wooden coasters in the rain, walk-on's, Skydiving, British or Irish beer. Turn-Offs: Disregard to grammar and spelling, ignorant bigots, vandalism in parks.

Scott "Chitown" Eddy, Moderator I grew up in the Chicago area and have lived here all of my life. If you are familiar with this area I was born in Melrose Park which is a few miles from the Chicago border and home to Kiddieland (which has the Little Dipper, recognized by ACE as a coaster classic). I spent most of my time grew up most of my childhood in Waukegan which is the next town east of Gurnee (home of Six Flags Great America). I went to school in Gurnee and often would ditch class during the end of the school year to visit the park, ride coasters, and pick up girls.
I worked at SFGAm when I was 16 between my Junior and Senior year. I was employed at Farmers Market which is the variety food court at the park. I had a blast when I worked there and will never forget the friends I made.
My favorite coaster memory was waiting in line for Shockwave when it debuted in 1988. It was the tallest, fastest, steel coaster at the time with the most inversions but that wasn't the best part of it. I met my first long term sweetheart while waiting in line for 4 hours. She knocked me off of my feet and made me realize what love was.
Today, I live in Elgin, Illinois which is about 30 miles west of Chicago. I have a beautiful daughter and own a house. Even though I was never married that didn't stop me from taking my responsibilities toward my child. I have taken my daughter to SFGAm, Kiddieland, and Santa's Village so she can experience the thrills that I have experienced throughout the years.
Location: Chicago, Illinois Turn-Ons: Weekends with my daughter, light crowds at amusement parks, anything coaster related, adult beverages. Turn-Offs: Ignorance, racism, crowded amusement parks, politics.

Greg Legowski, Moderator I was raised in New Jersey for most of my childhood, less than 20 minutes from Great Adventure. My parents talked with great fondness of the good times at Coney Island (both of them being from Jersey City originally).
Ironically, it wasn't until we moved from New Jersey to Pittsburgh that I was "allowed" to ride a single coaster. So at the ripe old age of 15 (just over half a lifetime ago as I write this!) I was finally able to get on my first roller coaster, Jackrabbit at Kennywood. Life just hasn't been the same since.
Location: Pittsburgh, PA Turn-Ons: Intelligence, "cute" women (of any body style), dark beer, tech gadgets, games (board, card, computer...) Turn-Offs: Fake, shallow, or loose women (hmmm, maybe those are redundant), intentional stupidity. |
