A 71-foot-long piece of Coney Island history will be part of a new entertainment complex in development for a boardwalk in New York City, officials announced Wednesday. Carol Hill Albert and Jerry Albert, whose family owned and operated the dismantled Astroland amusement park, donated the Rocket to the city. The 14,000-pound virtual-reality ride to the moon will be in storage until it can be displayed again at the planned 27-acre, year-round park by the boardwalk in Brooklyn.
