As the grammar czar... I don't think costed is a word... I think it is cost for the past tense.

Just to inform and enlighten. :)

im postive ghostrider cost 15 million but with theming and taking out the building and everything else, it cost 25 million. 15 millionn is a lot for a wood coaster and gr was built on flat terrain and is quite a short ride, so, it was really a lot for a woodie with those circumstances.
and i heard perilous plunge cost 3-4 million but i could be wrong since all of its problems and the big trench for water. i really doubt 9 mil though.
id say
1 sdk2
2 hulk/sob
4 mf
5 s:te/nitro/and a bunch of others

Stealth is 19 million plus it cost PGA alot of money this off season redoing the electrical circuts and maintainents to make it run better. S:TE was way up there to!

Anyone know how much Nitro or the other B & M Hypers cost b/c I imagine they all cost at least $20 Million (if not more) considering the fact that they are taller, have larger supports, and more track than an average B&M Looper which is usually about $15 Million. *** This post was edited by DMB17 on 5/25/2001. ***
I think Dueling Dragons, Millennium Force, and Steel Dragon are the most expensive coasters so far. And I don't know where you guys got that Ghostrider cost over 20 million to build. The most that coaster could cost would probably be around 10 million.
Anybody know how much X-Flight cost? What was the price tag on Goliath. X might be alot of $.

How much do you think the Phantom Revenge cost to build? Custome mad track new cars it must have been a ton.
goliath was by gio which is a cheaper company so id say 15-20 mil, x has a really short track so i doubt it will cost that much, maybe 10-15 million

It was printed in some industry mags in 98. With the record amount of lumber board feet, theming, and misc. relocations it was for real. (I'd look it up, but I really don't feel like digging through a box of AT back issues)

Doesn't every new coaster have custom made track (Can't go to Home Depot and buy it!) and new trains? With the relatively short length of the new track and 2 train bodies, it can't be much.

Aside from SD2000,I really think all the steel coasters are cheap investments.
In the long run it costs big bucks to keep a wooden coaster running.
It doesn't cost much for a park to replace brakes or a chain lift, aside from that there isn't much a park has do to keep a steel coaster running compared to a wooden coaster.
You guys forgot Space Mountain! That was something like 98 million with the themeing and technology developement!

Why did SD2K cost that much? I don't think there was much theming to it. Anyone know? And now I know why SF hasn't added another STE to another park. That and the whole "coaster" contraversy.

Everything above was my opinion. If you disagree, please respond in an intelligent fashion. But before you post,I warn you that some people say I'm just too smart to understand. Please take that into consideration.

x is only $14 mill.
SOB was only $15 mill.

An average CCI goes between $4-$7 mill
Space Mountain in Disneyland Paris
100 Mil. Dollar. Vekoma Sitdown Looping Coaster.
Koaster King, SD2K cost heaps as Japan has very high tax & tariffs. Mebbe their exchange rate had something to do with it. Plus, have you seen how many people are crammed in that country?

Poll Check

1. Space Mountain (Old & new) $100 million
2. Thunder Mountain $60-80 million
3. Steel Dragon 2000 $51 million
4. Dueling Dragons $50 million
5. MF, Ghostrider & Hulk $25 million
8. Superman: The Escape $20 million
9. Stealth $19 million
10. Son of Beast $18 million

Please note this is not accurate as the above info varies. You're more than welcome to add more input.

Montu, I think was something like 10 million and Kumba was like 6 million.

Georgia Scorcher...OH yeah it's fire baby!!!
Koaster King,I think SD2K was so expensive is the fact that the first three hills are all over 200ft tall.
Rock N Rollercoaster @ Disney Studios was around $50 million.
