Scoring Game?

Just out of curiosity what does the "scoring game" number in my profile mean?

Every "Vote Up" you get on your posts adds 1.

The higher your score, the more nothing that happens.

You also get 10 points for every news story or photo set you contribute.

Actually, I think it's 10 for news stories, 25 for photos.

How many do you get for contributing an amusement park or roller coaster?

Ten

Yup. And two point coversions are 2.5

You get a bonus 10 if you get the seat you wanted after a ride op asked you to sit elsewhere. Plus 5 if you did it you did it politely.

But if the ride op says something to the effect of "yeah that's fine if you wait for that seat. It's my favorite seat too!" then you get the rare bonus 25.

You know that passive aggressive nonsense others were telling you they didn't like? That's a good example of it.

I have a good points to posts ratio. About 365 posts and 355 points. I'll be up to hopefully 565 points by the end of tommorow because of pictures.

This metric is meaningless in terms of contribution to the community. Specifically, submitting a good picture is not a license to make 10 (or however many) nonsense posts.

Seriously, though, I just look at Tyler's photos, and I want to say, good job, Tyler. I think I will contribute some more photos. I just got a new camera and am itching to use it.

I'd be lucky if one out of twenty-five of my posts get a Vote up.

I got some pictures of Gatekeeper today.

Don't bother contributing them. Today was just about least photogenic day ever.
