To get an insider's taste of the fun-and-games world of working at Keansburg Amusement Park, a reporter spent two straight Saturdays making the rounds with Erik Knutsen, the park's 41-year-old operations manager. It was a drink from the fountain of youth.

The on-camera shtick wasn't for me, but I really enjoyed the writing. To those who've worked parks, I'm sure it's a "well, duh" kind of thing, but kinda cool to get the employees' perspective on things.

Plus, it's Keansburg. I was there before I was old enough to remember it.

The little bit about the dead man pedal at the carousel kinda cracked me up. I never realized how impressive they are.

Dave Dragon, go Dave Dragon, and the Star Force Five!

Epic fail on the Keansburg PR department for putting that ops guy in front of the camera. Hat on backwards, sunglasses; couldn't appear more like some carney operation to me. No wonder why some of the jersey shore amusement operators get a bad rap. Would it kill you to show a little professionalism?

I didn't watch.
Did he have all his teef?

Fun video. I agree that "the park's operations manager" seemed a little unprofessional. Maybe that's the persona he has to put on to get respect from his employees, I dunno.
