Newest "post" in Day in Pictures

Is there a way to see the newest comments in a Day in Pictures thread? I don't really want to have to flip through 40 pics to find new comments, but I don't know any other way (which means I usually ignore them after my first pass through).

When you're viewing the thumbnails of an album, pictures with comments have a tan box around them. However, they will continue to have said tan box even after you've viewed the picture.

What you do is go back up a level, to the Day in Pictures forum and click "mark forum read." Now the tan boxes will go away until there's another new comment.

A while back, Jeff explained why there isn't an easier way, and it seemed to make sense, as far as how the site works. Fortunately, now that we have that static banner at the top, it's easy to get back to the Day in Pictures forum without scrolling up.

"Mark forum read" is THE DEAL... ;)

Thanks for the question, Andy, and for pointing out the solution, birdhombre. I've been frustrated (to an extent) by this for a white and I'm glad to know a quick and sensible solution.
