Iron Dragon valleyed (sp?) at Cedar Point 10/2/15

Observed Iron Dragon valleyed at Cedar Point friday night. Was pretty early in the day, not even a hour after park open. It was almost at the end of the course, had one more turn to go. It was a very windy night and most rides were closed. We only rode Blue Streak, Rougarou and Maverick.

Very observant.
I was there Friday night as well, big fat mistake. Chet&Matts on the way in was the highlight.
And that's not entirely fair, I rode quite a few flats and had some unexpected fun doing that.
The park seemed very busy, but maybe not when you consider no one was in line anywhere. Cedar Downs was very popular that night, I don't think I've seen it that busy in years and years. There was quite a line and just about every horse was taken.
It was so freaking cold and windy that I didn't even consider riding any of the three coasters that were open.
Lines for the haunted houses started forming somewhere between seven and 730.
I had packed a bag on the off chance that I might be there late and staying overnight, but about 930 I headed for the truck and came home.
I renewed my season pass and got a free fast lane to be used on either a Friday or a Sunday, so maybe there will be a better weekend before the end of the season to go. I hope so.

That sounds less than awesome about the wind. When we went in May 2014 it was so windy that TTD didn't run the 3+ days we were there; and GK, Raptor, & MF ran sporadically at best. We still had a blast but it was disappointing.

Any word if they got ID back to the station? Looks like we are making a last minute, one day trip Sunday 10/11 and ID is one of my son's favorites.

But then again, what do I know?

They had it running by Sunday afternoon.

The cars on the Arrow suspendeds are like buckets made expressly for the purpose of catching the wind. Can't imagine why they'd even try a test-run in conditions windy enough to close most of the park...

To be fair, I'm not sure that ride has ever been one that was particularly susceptible to wind.

I'd love to see the park add new open seating to the ride, like on Raptor. That would be an inexpensive way to add a new experience to the park.

It significantly changes the ride experience, but I would suggest it doesn't do so for the better.
