Cedar Point's Valravn

I've been checking the site for the last day to see if anyone was going to post on the leak of Valravn. I haven't seen anything so here it is.

I believe the leaks are legit for the fact they pulled the app off the playstore. I for one dig the logo and the layout. I mean yea who wouldn't want a lighting rod kinda of announcement.. I'm not disappointed in the least. I can't wait to ride it. I just wanted to see what others thought about it on here. I love reading all the coasterbuzzers opinions.

MF Crew 2006
Magnum's 3rd hill is the best airtime hill out of all the coasters in the world!

[IMG]Im sure the gp will love it but i find them boring for the price. I would much rather see an airtime machine. Just think the price is as much if not more than lightning rod and the latter is much more appealing to me. How many more huge B&Ms will they put in the same area, with raptor, rougarou, gatekeeper and now valravn all close to each other.

It's not like this was a big surprise ar anything. It'll get me to the park next year! It looks like fun.

What if this is misdirection, like what happened with Banshee at KI? LOL

Here is a video of it:

Hmm not entirely impressed by the layout. It's not very long and it's not very innovative as I've come to expect from Cedar Point. Fingers crossed that this isn't quite what they will reveal to us on the 18th.

As many as will fit, if that's what Cedar Fair determines will best fit the company's goals.

They started putting this together on PointBuzz last week...

I just figured out that the first inversion looks like it will loop around the skyride.

So what if Magn... I mean Valravn... sucks? It has an absolutely amazing view of the la... mountains!

Okay... it doesn't look record-breaking-ly tall, it might break the length record by a foot or two, and it does nothing unique. Do 3 inversions break the Dive Coaster record? I don't know. Not only that, but Dive Coasters have provided a wing-rider-esque experience long before the wing rider was invented. And only 3 years removed from Gatekeeper, this video just looks redundant.

But I don't think the *concept* of a Dive Coaster is a diversion. Enough people will love this video that they wouldn't risk teasing a Dive Coaster unless they were building one. Not to mention it's unique to the area by over 500 miles and extremely marketable. I hope that the layout is something more inspired but I'd be willing to bet that this is it.

Come again? It does kinda-sorta look like there are footers in the Sky-Ride area. Too hard to tell.

And the video doesn't show that and that at least would be something cool about it.

Very cool indeed. At the very least, it looks like Valravn will get out there and interact with the midway which is always a plus.

I rubbed my eyes and looked a little harder at what I thought I was seeing. I looked at this image...

...and thought that it showed the track encircling Sky Ride's ride path. Those supports behind the inversion in correlation with the orientation of Sky Ride's station threw me off a little. I recently looked at this...

...and it appears to me that the Sky Ride's path will actually travel directly over those supports. It would have been really cool though.

There's still the possibilty that cedar fair is ****ing with us like what they did last year on the kings island website.

I haven't been on the one at BGT but Griffon is a lot of giggly fun. However part of the reason I love Griffon so much is when you get to the park at opening, even on the busiest days, you can usually get 5+ rides on the thing before the line really starts to build. Probably a lot more if you don't opt for the front row.

Alas this will not be the case at CP. Still, it looks like it will be plenty of fun but will suffer a bit from Gatekeeper's fate - that there is a much, much better B&M right next door that was built more than 20 years ago.

I'd take that video with a grain of salt. It looks like it could just be a NoLimits recreation based on the leaked dimensions. I'm withholding judgment until I see something official.

Two points:

First, you know it's a really poorly-kept secret when I've known about it for a couple months...

Second, I'm way impressed by the addition of airtime hills to this model. Thought the little bit on Griffin....Griffon (dammit, Peter) was the stand-out portion of the ride, and can't help but think the extra hills on Valravn will be a huge plus.

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Layout looks pretty cool for a dive coaster. Video doesn't look like something Cedar Point would release though. I would hope they would integrate a splash pool that would interact with the midway in some way. Love that about Sheikra.

That's exactly what it is. The entire channel is NL creations of new rides.
