Charlie who? At least that will be the response of most children. I'm glad that we went out of the way to visit on a recent trip to Montreal and my daughter was able to see Nickcentral in it original form.

This is a beautiful park and will still be packed to the brim everyday I'm sure, regardless of characters but really... I honestly can't believe that the Cedar Fair regime failed to see the value of having characters that are relevant to this generation.

No renderings, no POV's, nothin'! At least they got their grammar right.

In all seriousness, I don't completely agree with this direction, but I don't think it'll hurt them. My son associates Snoopy with Cedar Point and Nickelodeon characters with KI (which I'm assuming we're going to see a Peanuts invasion as well). Either way, he gets excited.

Sure, I think Nick has more appeal and marketability then Peanuts. But this isn't the end of the world either.

Because kids will still drag their folks to the parks. Dale E on the other hand with send a lot of fans to the park. I would not want to be any where around there when the races are in Richmond or Martinsville.

I think there were still a few rides left from Geauga Lake. Meaning, not sold or relocated yet. Maybe they will be the new rides or maybe they won't. I hope that wasn't too vague. I'm headed to the parks for the weekend. But, if I can find my list of "in limbo rides" I'll post later this weekend.

I hope the 3 new rides are line munchers, but based on the announcement I fear they may be kiddie rides. Canada's Wonderland is a great park but it's a misreble place to be on a busy day which is generally any given day in July and August. Aside from Behemoth the rides in the park are fairly dated or suck as far capacity goes.

I was just there two days ago. The waterpark is a great place to be until about 1:30ish when the line ups set in. Walked around the rest of the park and the lines were the worst I've ever seen there. July unusually chilly up here so I assume everyone's deciding to cram their summer fun into August. Even Dragon ,the old Arrow double looper, had a line up sprawling out into the midway that was well over an hour.

Nope, the Geauga Lake rides Cedar Fair retained have new homes (sans the Carousel and Spider)

I remember when a kiddieland consisted of smaller versions of a Parks Big rides and kids flocked to it regardless of a Million Dollar License or elaborate theme.

Long gone are the days of "Rainbow Island" and "Kiddy Kingdom"

Just doesn't make sense. I loved the Peanuts characters when I was growing up but that was several decades ago. My kids have no idea who the Peanuts characters are now. Nick however is huge.

Cedar Fair have lost touch with their customers, and replacing Nick proves it. I am very disappointed. Why can't they see the value that the Nick license has to offer?

I've always felt that Peanuts characters were second rate. Six flags has DC superheros' which stay popular with comics, new TV programs, and movies. Disney has characters of TV and movies that kids are exposed to on a daily basis. Universal has licenses from some of the biggest movies and TV programs, such as Marvel, Jurassic Park, and Dr. Seuss.

...And Cedar Fair is going to replace the Nickelodeon license with Peanuts, more than likely chain wide? Nick is the best thing that they have. I don't know about the money, but as long as it's the going rate, I'd say that it's absolutely worth it for what Cedar fair gets out of it.

Cedar Fair's Peanuts are stale.

Is it just me or has CF officially lost it?

You will spend 25 million on a coaster going into KD that they really don't need after getting Dominator but you refuse to pay for the licensing of the Nick brand.

While I agree that the "value" in Nickelodeon is greater than Peanuts, the bottom line to this decision is $$$$$$$$$$$. Cedar Fair is deep in debt, we are in a recession/depression with the recreation industry taking a hit, the licensing fee is quite hefty, their isn't "exclusivity" to the licensing when we see Nickelodeon at other recreation venues...so many reasons to explain this decision.

Clearly this is one of the best examples coming out of Cedar Fair recently of a decision based on what is best for corporate finances and protecting shareholder value versus public satisfaction and a better "guest experience." Cedar Fair is not alone, most corporations now function this way..and we wonder why this country fell off the tracks. Welcome to the "new America" of the 21st century.

Fortunately there are still a few small parks like Holiday World and others who TRULY are dedicated to guest satisfaction.
