Knoeble's Grave: Not a place you find by accident!
My sister may have roped me in to helping move to Indiapolis or short notice, but dang nabbit, I WAS gonna hit a park at some piont on the trip. (2000 miles over a 5-day trip between NH & Indy!) I had SO many choices between the two points. Quassy, Lake Compounce, KI, or even CP. I wanted somthing DIFFERENT!
Well, in dawned on me I could hit a park for a couple of hoys and not break the bank: Knoeble's. On my way back, I stopped at the PA Info stop on the Ohio boared to get more info. It soon occured to my the this park is off the beaten path a bit.
I arrived about 1:30 PM after leaving Indy at 3:00 AM and proceed to grab some of the best honkin' fries EVER!!!! $2.5) for a regular was well worth the price!
After that, I figured I needed to get some road rage outta my system, so I hit the dodgems. They totally rock! They were better than the YouTube vid lead me to belive they were!
Next, I headed over to the Pheonix. I waited It was about a three train wait for the front, and was it worth it! I loved the sick air throughout the ride and the nice start with the tunnel.
Then it was on to the Twister. I didn't know a thing about this ride until I saw it on the park map. It was about a 20 minte wait for the front row, but well worth it. While waiting, I asked one of the ride ops about the best way to get back up to I-80. He was very friendly AND helpful. The staff get an A+++.
Okay, the TWISTER!! I didn't think crazy stuff like that was possible with wood! The start of the ride with the steep drop out of the station was a fun start, and only got better from there. The split with a U-turn tween the two chains is the mildest thing on the ride. From then on, you don't know left from right or even what's ahead! It hurts, but hurts so good!
Bottom line: You gotta go. Even it's for Pheonix, Twister, and Flying Turns (if they ever get the thing open
).
