Even with the brakes, Steel Hawg's drop is pretty sweet!! But despite what others say, I still think Fahrenheit's first drop is a complete yawn even from the last row..just not enough speed, IMO.

These steep drops just don't do anything to excite me. Is this gimmick really pulling in crowds?

I don't think these are going to be on my must ride list. I was all pumped about steel hawg. Been on it a few times now. It doesn't do anything for me. Steep drop, and you go upside down on a continuous track. The only positive note for them; there great to look at.

What can I say the dive machine don't exactly impress me either.

I really enjoyed the Hawg - the uber steep drop, theseverely underbanked turn, the descending zero-g (aka, the mini-Kumbathingy). Very much looking forward to riding Mumbo Jumbo in a little more than a month as part of my first intercontinental coasting trip.

OMG, I'm laughing my butt off, I could watch that woman 1000 times and never get tired. I love how she finally opens her mouth for commentary and the ride's over!

I thought Steel Hawg, apart from having a ridiculous name (we always call it Steel HOWg), was a great ride. It, or it and a side by side double, would make a nice addition to any small to medium sized park.

Steel Hawg is awesome!...it had me giggling from beginning to end. A real winner in my book.

EDIT - just watched the video. That woman had the same reaction upon entering the final brakes as I did after my first ride: I erupted in uncontrollable laughter and was ready for another ride right then.

Looks fun, I really liked Hawg, so perfect for that park. I liked it alot more then Spongebob at MoA (the only coaster I really could compare it to that I've been on). Glad this was well recieved and Im sure the extra degrees will bring people in over there.
On another note, if you're scared why NOT keep your eyes open? I see alot of people close their eyes tight when on a roller coaster. I could never do that as I would surely puke (and I never get nausea on a coaster normally). For me that's when I would feel the forces but my imagination takes over, mind over matter so to speak, making me sick. I guess that's just me. I could sit in a chair that is just slowly leaning to one side, but if I am actually believing i am spinning in a tight spiral, I could make myself sick.

I suspect for some people it (closing one's eyes) may just be an instinctual response to fear and something they cannot control.
