Line break parsing when making a reply

Ever since the new version of the forums were implemented, I've been unable to get line breaks to show up in my posts when making a reply. This problem only occurs with replies; I haven't been able to replicate it when creating new threads. Oddly enough, if I edit the reply and re-insert the line breaks, the post is then formatted properly.

I've tried replying with both with Firefox 3.0 and IE 7, both with add-ons disabled, and had the same results. I'm running Vista, though I'm not sure how the OS could affect text input.

I'd appreciate if you could look into this problem, as knowing that I have to edit my replies has led me to post less.

Re: Line break parsing when making a reply

Are you pasting it in from something? I'm using the same browsers you do without any problem.

Re: Line break parsing when making a reply

I've tried that in an attempt to fix the problem (no good), but it occurs when I'm typing my reply directly into the textbox on the page.

Re: Line break parsing when making a reply

I would just switch to the plain text box, I have mine set to always use it in my preferences.

Re: Line break parsing when making a reply

Believe it or not, but I've always had that option enabled.

Well not having anything more to go on, I don't know that there's anything more I can tell you.

Re: Line break parsing when making a reply

Since eightdotthree reminded me that there was a rich text box editor, I turned it on, and sure enough things are working as intended.

*shrug* I know these kinds of things are hard to track down.

Re: Line break parsing when making a reply

Hmmm, so if that worked for you, it should work for me as well.

Let's check and see...

edit: suh-weet. I was editing all my longer posts to make paragraph breaks. This is easier and cleaner...thanks!
