The Mega Disk'O, a giant purple-and-gold Italian-made pendulum ride, arrived on Tuesday at Waldameer. All week, an eight-man crew, with the help of a crane, has been raising it piece by piece into the sky. Staff hope to give it a test spin on Saturday. The public's first chance to step aboard will be a special weekend event planned May 2 and 3 that will help raise funds for the John Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation.

I think this ride can be a real success for a smaller park like Waldameer. I know Kennywood has a fairly new ride, and it seems really popular. I am sure it is very reliable as well.

I think they're great rides, and I'm surprised that Zamperla hasn't sold more of them, especially given the variations they offer. Although the stand-up one is kinda silly, I think.

Re: Waldameer preps its Mega Disk-O

I rode my first mega-disko at Silver Dollar City and could not get enough of it. Bassistist and I kept running back in line to ride again. Even the regular version of the ride is fun. I can't wait to experience my first Disko-Coaster at KI in May.

Last Airbender is awesome at KI. It's a very thrilling ride considering that it's in the "kid's" section of the park. I love the theme too, being somewhat of a fan of the show.
