Didn't this arrangement fail when Marriott took over the park in the 80s? What makes them think it's going to work now? And if it does work, I'd imagine we could kiss those short lines goodbye, since the ride prices are what keeps them short.

I think the idea is to make money, and if this does that and gets ride of the public subsidy, it's the right idea.

We were there last summer and it is such a great park. The only thing was that the POP was for only 6 hours and it was pricey at $35. This sounds like a much better deal.

It was 35 dollars for a six hour POP last summer but Jeffs right, the parks on the county parks board and is significantly subsidized by local tax payers.Chuck, who would consider that his best visited traditional amusement park. Simply Beautiful.

I understand the desire to change the gameplan. I just don't know if it's going to work, seeing as how people flat-out rejected the idea years ago. I'm pretty sure it took the park a long time to recover from that mess.

$35 for 6 hours... sounds kind of expensive... however, if I recall the price of tickets correctly, it actually is a deal.

We went last July after spending the day at Coney Island. There were 3 of us and we each rode the Dragon, mouse and flying coaster. We did the funhouses and maybe one flat ride and it was over $100 in tickets. We got there late (around 8:00 pm) so we didnt consider the POP. It is a great park but very pricey. We will be in the area next summer for a trip to Sleepy Hallow and this time it will be the POP or not go.

Sleepy Hallow? As in Sleepy Hollow of Ichabod Crane / Washington Irving fame?

Two years or so ago on a trip that eventually took us to SFNE, my wife and I stumbled upon Sleepy Hollow by accident when we were visiting the Tarrytown Lighthouse along the Hudson. We spent an unscheduled hour or hour and a half exploring the Old Dutch Church, "Headless Horseman Bridge", and Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. One of the unexpected surprises of our trip.

Not far from Rye along I-287 on the east end of the Tappan Zee Bridge.
