A false leg was just one of many bizarre items found near The Corkscrew at Alton Towers, which is to be dismantled after carrying 43.5 million people since it opened in 1980. Staff clearing the site also found underwear, a diamond wedding ring, 53 non-matching shoes and 604 watches.

Wow. It sounds like they haven't cleared the land since 1980. I'd think they'd do a walkthrough to pick up big stuff at least every week. And I can't imagine that the owner of the leg didn't report it when it happened.

^ Definitely wondering why they haven't picked stuff up from under the ride all these years. I would think most parks are meticulous about cleaning under rides at least once a week or so, so trash does not accumulate and become unsightly. Won't most parks at least get keys and such at the end of the night?

Diamond ring? I guess the person wasn't sure where in the park it went missing! Yah, this seems strange. We landscaped the Whizzer every so often.

My favorite was cleaning up the Revolution (looping boat) pit. That ride had a knack for emtying people's pockets. I had an awfully large Zippo collection.

I read about a guy who lost his virginity on that coaster.

I wonder if they found that...

^Well that explains the underwear they found if are referring to the Corkscew.
