People are idiots. I can't remember seeing anyone "puking all over the place" in any bar I've ever been to, let alone an amusement park. I also don't make the connection to how it's anti-family. I go to my local Buffalo Wild Wings all of the time, and frankly I'm a little annoyed at the number of kids there. The environment is not a negative for the kids.

At the end of the day, it's a private business, and if there is no legal reason they can't serve alcohol, it should be entirely up to them. If these idiots who object to it don't like it, they don't have to go.

Of course, we all know of the horrible reputation of the Busch parks. Drunk people everywhere, creating havoc on rides and contributing to an inappropriate atmosphere for families...

1. I'm surprised the mayor of Arlington is part of the prohibitionist movement, what with that ballpark across the street from Six Flags and that gigantic, billion-dollar stadium being built. Surely they don't serve beer at sports arenas...
2. I liked the comment about it being impossible to control beer sales at a 167-acre facility. As if there will be illicit beer kiosks tucked away in remote corners of the park where kids will be able to score some Bud Light.

You can't say that it creates an un-family-friendly environment to have alcohol in an amusement park when Disney serves alcohol in their parks. It would seem that it's case closed right there.

Actually it makes perfect sense janfrederick. Conservatives want individual states to control their own government which means a smaller federal government. This means each individual state can ban or allow whatever the people of that area wants within the limits of the Constitution.

Now on the subject, I don't agree with prohibition. If there is support for alcohol sales locally, I don't see why it should be banned. I personally don't see drunks everywhere at my home park throwing up everywhere in site, as long as that isn't a problem and impeding on my fun with the family, I don't have a problem with it.

You go to a park to relax, have fun, and get away from the "real world." Sometimes that includes alcohol.

Some people have too much time on there hands to worrie about such dumb issues. Cp, six flags, busch and other theme parks have been serving beer for as long as I can remember. Not once do I remember a problem being coused because of beer.

Busch parks even give you free beer, and I don't see people puking and falling over drunk in the park.

When I go to a park, I may have a beer or two. I have never puked or coased a scene.

I'll bet idiots who want to drink and get hammered will still do so even if they don't sell beer at the parks. They'd just sneak it in, pre game in the parking lot, etc. Just like the prohibition, our current drug bans, whatever, if someone wants something, they'll do what they can to get it.

Plus has anyone thought who'd actually want to get "hammered" at a park? It's over priced, you walk all day, you're dehydrated, tired, etc. Seems like the place you'd get a beer with you pizza for dinner, not pounding 5 in an hour before you get on Batman.

To me it just seems like people want to stop this just so they seem to have "control" over things again with all the problems with our economy, politics, etc.

But it does become a problem when drunk people ignore warning signs and climb over 6-foot fences into restricted areas and get decapitated.

So, what you're saying is, you're against serving beer in parks?

Are you also against serving beer at Applebee's? They're a "family" establishment. Last I checked, many members of families enjoy beer. I have a family, and coincidentally, I'm actually brewing my own beer right now.
