Seabreeze president Rob Norris said the park is on track to meet or just beat the gross earnings of last year — a record — and some statistics show that staying local was on the mind of area residents looking for fun this summer. Pass sales were up 15 percent this year and zip code surveys showed that the park was popular for people in nearby markets who might have forsaken a longer trip to Hershey Park, Pa., or Old Forge in favor of someplace a little more gas friendly.

We went this summer. It is a fun park (and 4 credits). I loved the historical markers that showed the park in the past. Great carousel too.

Re: Seabreeze helped by gas prices

Just when I thought I'd found an article about gas prices keeping people near home without some cutesy play on words like 'staycation', I get about 3/4's of the way through and find the word 'daycation' used.

Sigh.

Even funnier is this bit that follows:

On Sunday, the park was full of people splashing down waterslides and eating gooey pizza between rides. No one said they were at Seabreeze because it took less gas to get there...

In an article about gas prices helping a local business. Classic.
