Accused Six Flags Web site hacker pleads guilty

Mark Daniel Kahn, 27, of San Francisco, pleaded guilty to intentionally causing damage to the computer system used by Six Flags. Kahn will be sentenced at a later time and faces a maximum of a $250,000 fine and 10 years in prison. Kahn allegedly inserted a malicious code into interactive job application forms that were then submitted to Six Flags.

In related news, Chester P. Doolittle of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to having his fingers chopped off for writing, "WASH ME" on the dirty window of a pickup truck . . .

IMO, people like this guy who do what he did aren't in it for spite, or to willingly destroy anything, but instead because of hubris and arrogance. He wants everyone to know that he's smarter and better than everyone else. Unfortunately, I don't think just shaking a finger at him and telling him not to do it again will stop him. I think he may need some kind of punishment to convince him to change his ways.
