Thanks to Halloween falling on a Friday, the region's two largest parks — Lake Compounce and Six Flags New England — are stretching their operating schedules a bit longer than usual. That means the risk of opening on a chilly or even downright cold day, but it also offers the chance for extra revenue in a part of the country where amusement parks must make their money in a short season.
