Re: UPDATED: Worker struck by Casino Pier's Star Jet, dies in hospital
On my last trip to BG Tampa a guy's hat blew off while he was riding Scorpion and went under a low section of track. I was about 1 train away from riding and got to witness this guy become a complete ass about his hat. He was climbing over the queue, kept pointing, interrupting the ops, and at one point acted like he was going to go in after it himself. Finally, exasperated, the ops called maintenance who shut down the ride, locked the booth, and sent the ops completely off the platform before finally retrieving the hat.
You guessed it, not so much as a thank you from the guy who just walked away examining his precious hat for damage. Then the rest of us got to stand by while maintenance set the ride back up, complete with test runs. I was hoping to run into the guy later - I had plans to snatch his hat and run.
Poor Stan, who from what arielle reports, probably met this same guy and was trying his best to be accomodating. Perhaps the fact that he was from Bulgaria contributed to his lack of judgement, and by that I mean the language barrier alone might've been enough for him not to have a complete understanding of procedure. If they even have procedures there in Seaside Heights - who knows?
Anyway, very tragic, and I'm always sorry anytime I hear about something senseless like this happening.
