I'm actually happy that those security checkpoints aren't as pointless as I once thought. You never have to go to long before some idiot does something like bringing a loaded gun into a theme park.

I guess the main question to all this is why was she carrying a loaded gun, actually no, why was she carrying a gun loaded or not it's still crazy and of course you've got the pair scissors and the knife.

The only thing this story does is that it gives everyone a reminder of how crazy this world really is.

I've almost walked into no-carry zones with my pistol before. After wearing it day in and day out for months, you tend to forget about it. I parked at the hospital once for an event we were doing, walked across the parking lot before realizing I had to walk back to drop off my gun.

If that makes me crazy, well, I guess I'm a crazy!

Wow, just wow! I'd hate to be the castmember who has to tell her the Fastpasses for Peter Pan are gone for the day.

I do carry a knife. I have no use for scissors usually.

Thank God I was off yesterday.

I carry because I went through all the hoops to get a card that said I could. I took a class, had to demonstrate proper firearm control, I was fingerprinted, profiled and background checked for the FBI and they've got all that on file with the State Police. I also had to go in front of the gun board along with pay some hefty fees.

Fact of the matter is, I never ever want to use it.

Working with amateur radio, it's very possible sometime I will be involved with a disaster event. The cops 'securing' the place aren't going to do anything to save me if someone crazy shows up. They're going to be looking out for #1 and that's it.

I also used to work third shift and spent a fair amount of time alone in buildings here at work with millions upon millions of dollars worth of equipment.

Also, having one of those cards requires you to disclose to a peace officer immediately, which is in of itself a way of telling the officer that not only have I been fingerprinted, I've had a background check and have a completely clean record (anything over a speeding ticket disqualifies you in MI). They tend to believe what you tell them.

It sounds to me like you got the card and did the work because you wanted to carry one, not vice versa. So, why exactly did you do that?

I've tried to understand with an open mind why anyone needs a gun in this country, but no one has ever succeeded in making a convincing argument.

A Pakistani guy I work with is quick to point out that everyone in his country of origin has guns, and you can see how well that's working out.

I just told you my reasons for carrying. In a disaster situation it may be useful, and I used to work thirds and would be alone quite often.

So, a tool of personal protection in a number of different possible scenarios.

I used to listen to the amateur radio idiots run around and chase storms to confirm what radar already knew. No offense, but please don't be one of those people who thinks they're doing something really important. If that becomes the only way to electronically communicate, we've got much bigger problems to deal with.

As opposed to really important things like debating whether El Toro should be considered a wooden coaster.

I hope the cops where ever your from, protect me from people like you. I work 2nd and 3rd.. never has crossed my mine that a gun is what I need. Yes I work alone and piles of valueable stuff laying around. While I'm at the amusement park, you go enjoy your NRA meeting.

Hello Crazy... Put the gun down and get on the coaster!

I can't imagine why anyone would want to carry a gun in America unless they're unstable or have delusions of persecution. Certainly guns don't belong in amusement parks and anyone who forgot she was carrying such a deadly instrument doesn't deserve to carry it.
